Cape Electrical Supply, 325 Christine St., has purchased L.D. Supply Co. in Carbondale, Ill.

The Carbondale company will be operated as L.D. Electrical Supply at its current site, 1205 N. Marion St.

L.D. Electrical will be a full-line electrical distributor concentrating on residential, commercial and industrial supplies.

The new business is the 10th store for Cape Electric, and its second in Southern Illinois. The company opened Marion Electrical Supply in 1976.

"Our move into the Carbondale market is a logical extension to an important part of our service area," said Allen Toole, president of the Cape Girardeau company.

Dennis Brewer, regional manger for Cape Electrical's Southern Illinois market, will have overall responsibilities for L.D. Electrical Supply. Brewer, who lives in Marion, has been with the company for 25 years.

John Lunini, who worked with L.D. Electrical Supply, will join Cape Electric as operations manager.

Mike Brooks, who has more than 20 years of experience, will transfer from the Marion store as leader of outside sales at Carbondale, and Ken Baker, who has more than 13 years of experience, will work as an inside sales representative at Carbondale.

Cape Electrical Supply operates stores in Cape Girardeau, Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, West Plains, Park Hills and Arnold in Missouri and Paducah, Ky.
