Wilson indicated he would serve as honorary chairman for the 1998 event, which has been scheduled for Friday, June 12.

The Cape Girardeau VFW Post 3838 was corporate sponsor for the tournament, which attracted 104 men and women for the four-person scramble event.

A portion of the funds will be placed in the "Perpetual Trust" to meet the needs of future residents of the veterans home. Other funds are used for various activities, veterans outings, and personal items for some residents.
