A man was killed Wednesday night when the vehicle he was driving left the road and struck a tree in Pulaski County Illinois.

Carl B. Lingle, 60, of Dongola, Ill., was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-car accident on Perks Road approximately three miles east of Highway 51 at 10:15 p.m.

Police said Lingle was eastbound when his pickup truck ran off the north side of the road where it went airborne after striking an embankment. The truck continued until it struck a tree and utility pole.
