MEATLOAF CONTEST DEADLINE TODAY

Today is the last day to enter your meatloaf masterpiece in the Southeast Missourian's first-ever Meatloaf Lovers' Contest. Entries should be dropped off the newspaper, 301 Broadway, or postmarked today. Mail entries to: Meatloaf Lovers' Contest, Box 699, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.

The recipes of five finalists will be chosen by two nutrition specialists with the University of Missouri Extension Service. The finalists will be asked to bake up their recipes for a taste-test by a panel of celebrity judges April 27.

The top prize includes a 6-month subscription or extension to the Southeast Missourian, a $66.50 value. The other four runners-up will receive a comic-strip umbrella. All five and their recipes will be featured on the May 5 Lifestyle page, along with as many of the submitted meatloaf recipes as possible.
