BROTHERS PLACE IN COMPETITION

Tim and Danny Robert of Cape Girardeau have placed first in every regional math competition they entered. Tim, an eighth-grader, placed first at both the regional MathCounts and Missouri Teachers of Mathematics (MCTM) eighth-grade test with algebra. Danny, a sixth-grader, placed first at the regional MCTM elementary competition in both problem solving and concepts.

Both boys followed their local successes by also ranking at the state level in competition. Tim placed 12th in the state at the MathCounts competition and 5th in the state at the MCTM competition. Danny placed at the state level in both his events with a 6th place in problem solving and an 8th place in concepts.

In addition, both boys ranked at the state level in the Missouri Math League competition. Tim placed 13th in the state with a score of 36/40. Danny was first in the state with a perfect score of 40.

They are the sons of Richard and Linda Robert of Cape Girardeau. They attend St. Mary's School.
