FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVITIES PLANNED FOR JACKSON CITY PARK

The Fourth of July is quickly approaching and the Jackson Jaycees have many events planned for the holiday in the city park.

There will be a mud volleyball tournament that will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 4. There will be a 48-team field. Each team will consist of eight players, six on the field with two alternates. The teams must have both male and female players and one female must be on the playing field at all times.

The entry fee is $50 and must be paid upon registration. There will be trophies and prize money awarded to the first, second, and third place teams. For further information contact Danny Watkins at 243-7418.

There will also be the Third Annual Craft Fair. If anyone is interested in having a booth at the craft fair contact Sherri Smith at 243-3462 for a registration form.

A car and truck show is also scheduled. There will also be a motorcycle division and a tractor class. If anyone is interested in showing their vehicle or would like information contact Vince Martin at 243-5443.

Any organization that is interested in having a food stand at the festivities should contact Tammi McClain at 243-5818.

There will be many other activities planned throughout the day. There will be a watermelon and pie eating contest, a horse shoe tournament, magic shows, and a concert.

There will also be a fireworks display. The Jaycees will have a Wal-Mart raffle and the proceeds will go towards the fireworks display.
