The Southeast Missourian asked people, "Do you think Jackson needs a citywide curfew for juveniles?"

Pam Raney:

"I think the city of Jackson should establish a curfew for youth, primarily for the safety and best interests of the youth, and also for the good of the other residents."

Kevin Roberts:

"I think it would be good. Ideally, parents would set a curfew for youth, but in cases where parents do not, I think it would help keep youth safer by keeping them off the streets during late night and early morning hours."

Sue Jones:

"I think Jackson needs a curfew, because there are youth out on the streets at all hours of the night. Apparently, their parents don't know where they are. This would help law enforcement and also the citizens."

Joe Smith:

"Until such a time comes to warrant passing a curfew law, I don't see a need for it. I think the reason we don't have one now is because the kids are reasonably behaved. With a curfew, they would probably try it out to see if they could get by."

Brandon Wendel:

"I think Jackson needs a curfew. I've seen kids out real late, when I've been in the car with my family, like after midnight. I think that's way too late. Maybe 11 o'clock at night would be good."
