The 1996 Miss Jackson Homecomers will be chosen Saturday night, the final night of the annual celebration.

The pageant will start at 7:30 p.m., with entertainment beforehand by the Jackson High School chorus. Entries will be accepted through today.

The coronation should take place between 8:30 and 9 p.m.

This year's contestants:

BLOOMSDALE -- Amanda Drury, daughter of Richard and Doris Drury, will be a junior at Ste. Genevieve High School this year. She has been active in Future Farmers of America, Social Studies Society, French Club, mixed choir, varsity letter softball, junior basketball, junior high volleyball and basketball, junior varsity and varsity track, varsity volleyball (manager), Girl Scouts, and summer league softball. She has studied dance at LaPremiere Danse Centre for 12 years. Drury was included in "Who's Who Among American High School Students." Her hobbies include basketball, softball, roller hockey, and running. She plans to attend college and become an athletic trainer-physical therapist.

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- McLane Jateff, who will be a senior at Cape Girardeau Central High School this year, is very active in her school. She will be the captain of the football/basketball cheerleading squad and serves on the Student Senate. Jateff has been on the honor roll, has played in the school band and is a member of the Team Spirit Leadership Team, a group designed to prevent and educate about drug and alcohol abuse. Her interests include horseback riding, mo-ped riding, water skiing and swimming. Jateff has been accepted at Central Methodist College at Fayatette, Missouri, where she will pursue a degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Bruce and Jana Jateff.

FARMINGTON -- Krista Simmons, daughter of Jim and Mary Simmons, will be a junior at Park Hills Central this fall. She is a member of the Junior Honor Society, Math and Science Club, pep club, RSA, drama club, FLA, and her church youth group. Simmons has been involved in volleyball and basketball for four years, the swim team for three years, track for two years and has studied dance for 13 years. She plans to attend college and study nursing.

FRUITLAND -- Keisha Clardy is heading into her senior year at Jackson High School. She is a member of the Jackson Spear-It Dancers and was voted co-captain during her junior year. Her hobbies include horseback riding, buggy riding, bicycling, swimming, and gardening. Clardy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Clardy.

GLEN ALLEN -- Jeneise Moyers will begin her junior year at Woodland R-4 in the fall. She is a member of the high school drum majors, band, pep band, FFA, and Grace Fellowship youth group. Moyers was FHA Devotional leader and W.A.S.T.E.D. rec leader. She is the daughter of Steve and Mary Jane Moyers.

JACKSON -- Lesley Dalton plans to attend Southeast Missouri University for two years and major in pre-physical therapy, after which she plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia and earn a master's degree in physical therapy. As a senior at Jackson High School, she was elected student council treasurer, played soccer, and in basketball made all-tournament team, all district, captain. Dalton has held student council positions throughout her high school years. She was active in National Honor Society, J-Club, Silver Arrow staff, THEO, and HI-Step. She is the daughter of Darris and Martha Dalton.

ORAN -- Lindi Lynn Prindle, daughter of Brent and Kitty Prindle, is an active member of FHA, FBLA, Beta Honor Society, student council, and class council. She was selected as varsity cheerleading captain, Spirit Team captain, and is a member of the varsity volleyball and track teams. She will be a junior at Oran High School this fall. Prindle participates in school band, and enjoys playing softball, horseback riding, and writing. She plans to attend the University of Missouri and study either broadcast journalism or dental hygene.

POCAHONTAS -- Jeanna Moore will be a junior at Jackson High School and has future plans to become a teacher. Her interests include basketball, baseball, volleyball, and choir. Moore is the daughter of Nollie and Rhonda Moore.

STE. GENEVIEVE -- Dana Heberlie, daughter of Randy and Connie Heberlie, will be a junior at Valle High School this year. She is a member of the pep club and is captain of the Valle Drill/Dance team. Her interests include dance and martial arts. Dalton plans to attend Mid-America College of Funeral Services in Indiana.

SCOTT CITY -- Jennifer Miller will begin her senior year at Scott City High School this fall. She is active in volleyball, basketball, softball and is a football cheerleader. Her interests include piano, gymnastics, aerobics, and weights. Miller volunteers in the emergency room at Southeast Hospital. She plans to study medicine. Miller is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Miller.

SEDGEWICKVILLE -- Amy Statler, daughter of Rick and Barbara Statler, will be a senior at Meadow Heights High School this year. She is involved in softball and volleyball, and is Beta Club president, student council president, FHA vice president, FFA vice president, and drum majorette for the school band. Statler's hobbies include running, playing clarinet, and hunting. She plans to attend the University of Missouri in Columbia and major in pre-veterinary medicine.

Little Miss Homecomer, Samantha Rae Leirer, the daughter of Gary and Penny Leirer, will be starting first grade this fall at St. Paul Lutheran school in Jackson. She has been a dance student for the past two years, and enjoys swimming and playing soccer and T-ball.

Little Miss Homecomer's escort, Andrew Koenig, son of Larry and Tammie Koenig, will be a first-grader this year. He enjoys fishing, swimming, bicycling, soccer and T-ball.

The two escorts of Miss Homecomers candidates will be Glen Brunke and Nathan Turley. Both will be seniors at Jackson High School.

Brunke is involved in football, wrestling, track, and chamber choir. He is a member of the Squawler newspaper staff, and HI-Step. His hobbies include reading, hunting and fishing. He is the son of Ed and Diana Brunke.

Turley is the son of Wayne and Karen Turley. He participates in football and track, is a member of HI-Step, J-Club, and FBLA. Turley's hobbies include weightlifting and watching basketball.

Jessica Koenig and Erin Fluegge, both soon-to-be seniors at Jackson High School, will serve as hostesses for the pageant.

Koenig, daughter of Terry and Vickie Koenig, plans to attend Southeast and study nursing. She is a cheerleader and a member of FBLA and HI-Step. Koenig has played softball for three years and earned a varsity letter. Her interests include cheerleading, camping and boating.

Fluegge, daughter of Dave Fluegge and Cheryl Reinagel, is captain of JHS Twirling line and student body vice-president. She is involved with various school clubs and activities and enjoys playing in the pep band. She plans to attend Southeast and hopes to twirl for the Golden Eagles Marching Band.
