MAN KILLED, TWO INJURED IN ACCIDENT

One man was killed and two others injured Saturday night when a vehicle overturned in a ditch in Butler County.

Christopher Bowen, 22, of Poplar Bluff died early Sunday morning at Doctor's Regional Hospital in Poplar Bluff from injuries suffered in the accident. He was a passenger in a car driven by Michael W. Bowen, 25, of Poplar Bluff.

The accident occurred at approximately 9:50 p.m. on Route HH four miles east of Neelyville, said the Missouri Highway Patrol. Michael Bowen failed to negotiate a turn, the vehicle ran off the road and overturned in a ditch.

Christopher Bowen and another passenger, Michael Smith, 26, of Poplar Bluff, were ejected from the vehicle. Smith was taken to Doctor's Regional Hospital with serious injuries.

Michael Bowen received moderate injuries and was also treated at the hospital. None was wearing seat belts.
