Area students are invited to enter a "Letters about Literature" essay contest sponsored by the Missouri Center for the Book and READ magazine. The contest is open to junior and senior high school students in Missouri. First prize for state winners is $100. To enter, students should write a personal letter to an author explaining how author's book influenced their lives or changed their way of thinking.
Deadline for entry is Dec. 6, and each entry must be accompanied by a submission coupon. The coupons are available from the Missouri Center for the Book in Jefferson City.
