For over a year and a half, there was no Greyhound Bus service in Cape Girardeau. Since Ken Forester took over the service in July 1995, service has only been out of the main depot at 117 W. Main in Jackson. Service has now resumed in Cape Girardeau.

The newest addition of Greyhound Bus Lines is at the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport. Greyhound now stops twice daily at the airport, providing bus service to locations both north and south. The northbound bus arrives at the airport at 10:30 a.m. and the southbound bus arrives at 11:15 a.m.

Due to zoning and other problems, the service depot locations kept changing over the years. Except for a long stretch from 1947 to 1990, when service was at Union Station on North Frederick, the bus line went through six different depots from 1990 to 1995.

The longest run during this time was at Don's Store 24 on Morgan Oak and Sprigg. Other depot locations included two in Jackson, one at Spanky's on Kingshighway, one across from Kelley Transportation Co. on Sprigg and one at 305 N. Frederick.

Currently, four buses stop daily in Jackson, at the intersection of Barton and Main. Since bringing the service to Jackson, Forester says ticket sales have been real good.
