George Treon of Hillsboro has joined Cape Toyota-Suzuki, 835 S. Kingshighway, as a salesmen.

Treon has 23 years experience in auto sales, 11 of them with a Toyota dealership in St. Louis.

Lynn Grant has joined the cardiac-pulmonary rehabilitation staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

Grant, an exercise physiologist, holds a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology from West Virginia University and a master's degree in the same field from Baylor University.

She is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine and is an ACE certified lifestyle and weight management consultant.

She is a member of the Missouri-Kansas Association for Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation; the American College of Sports Medicine and International Association for Fitness Professions.

Dr. Dale Nitzschke, president of Southeast Missouri State University, will be guest speaker at the City of Roses Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association Sept. 5.

Nitzschke will discuss his goals and visions for the university during the 6:30 p.m. meeting, to be held at the Drury Lodge.

Randy Alford, formerly of Dexter and now of Cape Girardeau, has joined Cape GMC Pontiac Inc., 755 S. Kingshighway, as a salesman.

Alford has sales experience, but this is his first auto sales position.

Judy Leist, of the The Way Christian Books and Gifts, recently attended the Christian Booksellers Association international convention, held at the Anaheim Convention Center.

Representatives from all 50 states and more than 50 foreign countries attended the conference to discuss new products, marketing trends and store promotions.

Forty seminars were conducted with topics on advertising, marketing and financial matters.

Sales associates Liz Abernathy and Bill Stovall were honored recently by Coldwell Banker Hamilton Realty for sales performance during the first half of 1996.

Abernathy recorded more than $2.5 million in sales, and Stovall produced almost $1 million in sales. Abernathy also received an award from Coldwell Banker as one of the top 10 agents in Missouri.

A number of sales associates were honored for their participation in Coldwell Banker flag displays on Memorial Day and July 4. They were Abernathy, Stovall, Terri Penrod, Janet Wilkens, Pamela Counts, Art Blaylock, Ken Kiefer, Martha Brown, Marilyn Ostendorf, Eric Wooden, Mary Arendt, Harriet Drusch and George Callis.

Hannah Franklin of New Madrid was the 1 millionth customer at Casino Aztar.

Franklin, 79, purchased the millionth boarding pass at the riverboat casino Aug. 14. The casino opened operations on the Mississippi River at Caruthersville April 28, 1995.

As the millionth customer, Franklin received a "free admission" pass for one year, a $100 gift certificates at a casino gift shop, dinner for two at the casino restaurants and VIP cruise in the pilothouse of the "City of Caruthersville" riverboat, which houses the Aztar casino. She will also serve as official ambassador for Casino Aztar at all special events during the next year.

Stephen R. Green, president and CEO of New Era Bank of Fredericktown, has been elected chairman of the Missouri Bankers Association for next term.

Green, who returned to Fredericktown in 1983 to head New Era Bank, previously worked for the St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank as an assistant examiner. He also held positions with Mercantile Trust Co. and Manufacturers Bank & Trust Co. in St. Louis.

He is a 1971 graduate of the University of Missouri, with a degree in business administration. He also completed the graduate studies in banking at University of Wisconsin.
