The Cape Girardeau Nursing Center has expanded its rehab center at its 120-bed facility at 2852 Independence in Cape Girardeau.
The nursing home, operated by Beverly Health and Rehab, headquartered at Fort Smith, Ark., recently added new equipment at the rehab center and moved it closer to the skilled nursing section of the nursing home.
"This places the rehab center closer to the area where it is most needed," said Kathy Yallaly, director of rehabilitation.
Equipment in the new rehab center includes ultrasound and electrical stimulation machines, parallel bars, exercise tables, stair simulation steps and other equipment.
Charlotte Sifford is speech therapist and makes daily appearances in the new rehab center. Also working with patients at the center are Phil Barrera, a registered physical therapist; Kellie Kunze, a certified occupational therapist assistant; and Snowdie Farrar, a rehab technician.
David Snyder is administrator at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center. Snyder has spent six years with Beverly Health and Rehab. He previously worked at the company's long-term care center at Humansville, Mo.
Sue Brooks-Pence recently joined the center as director of admissions and Kelley Pujol recently joined the nursing home as recreation director.
