Sue Brooks-Pence and Kelley Pujol recently joined the staff at the Cape Girardeau Nursing Center, 2852 Independence in Cape Girardeau.

Brooks-Pence is new director of admissions at the 120-bed facility operated by Beverly Health and Rehab, headquartered at Fort Smith, Ark., and Pujol is recreation director.

Brooks-Pence of Advance, a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and a member of the National Association for Female executives, has extensive background in marketing and public relations. She was employed nine years at Southeast Missouri State.

She has also worked as a counselor in alcohol and drug abuses services, and is co-owner of Country Classics Photography.

Pujol, of Cape Girardeau, previously worked in musical therapy at a private psychiatric hospital in Rustin, La.

She has a bachelor's degree in music education from Luther College, a master's in music therapy from Florida State and a Master's in special education from Northeast Louisiana University.

Scott Porter and Paul Ruff have joined Cape Girardeau Motors, 1754 Independence, as sales representatives.

Porter, of Cape Girardeau, has more than four years' experience in auto sales.

Ruff, of Charleston, was previously in the fertilizer and chemical industry.

Mitch Diebold, Dan Smith and Chris Mathes have joined Mathes Motors, 101 N. Kingshighway.

Mathes, of Cape Girardeau, has been in car sales about a year and a half. He previously sold cars at Mathes' Perryville location.

Smith, of Cape Girardeau, has been involved in the auto sales industry about two years.

Diebold, of Scott City, has been selling cars for more than two years.

Gerald Flood has joined Van Matre Buick Sales and Service, 511 S. Kingshighway, as a service advisor.

Flood, of Cape Girardeau, has more than 11 years' experience in sales and customer service. He previously worked in the appliance industry.

William S. Rader, a Cape Girardeau attorney, has been recognized as a "Senior Counselor" of the Missouri Bar.

The Senior Counselor title is awarded to attorneys who have reached the age of 75 years, or who have been admitted to the Missouri Bar for 50 years.

Rader was recognized last week in ceremonies during the opening luncheon of the 117th annual meeting of the Missouri Bar, held at the Westin Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City.

A total of 11 members of the Missouri Bar received the title this year.

Shawn Cook of Jackson has been promoted to investment officer of Boatmen's Investment Services Inc.

Cook, a registered Boatmen's Investment Services representative, is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. He joined Boatmen's as a teller in 1989, while attending college.

Cook serves as an investment officer for Boatmen's location in Jackson and Fruitland.

Ruth Timberlake, a secretary for the Cape Girardeau County University Extension Council since 1977, has been honored as a finalist for a University Outreach and Extension Secretary Award in the Full-Time Ten Years or More category.

Timberlake was honored recently during the University Outreach and Extension annual conference, held at Columbia.

Ken Voepel of Cape Girardeau has achieved Hall of Fame status with American Family Insurance.

Voepel and his staff -- Myrna Little and Cindy Stone -- qualified for 1996 All American status with the company for the 16th consecutive year in 1996, qualifying as a Hall of Fame agent.

American Family has more than 3,200 agents and less than five percent reach the Hall of Fame level. Voepel operates Ken Voepel Insurance at 2256 Kingsway in Cape Girardeau.

Dixie Hightower has joined the sales team at Century 21 Dutch Realty, 528 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson.

Hightower previously worked as a bank loan officer. She and her family lived in England four years before moving to the Jackson area three years ago.
