Rob Francis, owner of Dr. Soot Chimney Services in Jackson, has been elected to the Missouri State Chimney Sweep Guild board of directors.

Francis, who has been in the chimney sweep business nine years, will serve in the areas of public relations and membership.

The Chimney Sweep Guild is working toward a licensing program for Missouri. It is also considering a name change to reflect the variety of services its members provide. The guild, Francis said, may also open its membership to stove shop owners, brick masons and others involved in the solid fuel industry.

Kathy McCoy of Thebes, Ill., has joined Sign Master, 1909 Broadway, in Cape Girardeau as design and graphic artist, specializing in vinyl signs and banners.

McCoy is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in graphic design and interior design.

Kenneth E. Volkerding of Jackson has earned membership in the Lutheran Brotherhood's 1994 President's Club.

Representatives qualify for membership in the club based on sales of insurance and investment products to Lutherans. Lutheran Brotherhood and its subsidiaries, which have more than a million members nationwide, offer life and health insurance, annuities and mutual funds to Lutherans.

Volkerding is associated with the society's Harlan W. Pals Agency in St. Charles.

Tucker Davis has been named director of marketing at I.V. Care Inc., a home infusion and nutritional service company based in Cape Girardeau.

Randy Morse, president of the company, announced the appointment recently. He also announced the appointment of Debbie Woodsmall as director of nursing in the Poplar Bluff area.

Davis, a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor's degree in communications-public relations, will be responsible for the company's marketing activity in the Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff areas. Davis has been a pharmaceutical representative in Southeast Missouri the past four years.

Woodsmall, a graduate of Arkansas State University at Jonesboro, and a registered nurse, has nine years of specialized I.V. experience. She previously worked with Lucy Lee Hospital's I.V. therapy team.

David L. Hahs and D. Joe McKeon were honored recently during a Northwestern Mutual Life awards dinner sponsored by district agent and Mrs. T. Ronald Hahs.

David Hahs was cited as the agency sales leader for 1994, with top production in volume, premiums and new clients. He has been a member of the Cape Girardeau agency since 1972 and is a life member of the Million-Dollar Round Table.

McKeon received the "Bull O' The Woods" award, for the highest percentage increase in his sales over the last six months of 1994. He produced 135 percent of his quota. He has been a Northwestern agent since 1980.

Northwestern Mutual is the nation's second largest life insurance company in life insurance in force. The local agency was founded here in 1948 by M. Luther Hahs.

Charlie Daniels has retired after 23 years of service with Commercial Transport Co.

Daniels, who served as terminal manager for Commercial Transport, was guest of honor at a surprise retirement party last weekend at the Drury Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Attending the party were Commercial Transport employees, customers and members of the Daniels family.

Susan Brannock and Rene Statler of Crowe & Rediger Orthodontics have completed all requirements to receive designation as certified orthodontic assistants.

Denise Ayers, Melissa Baron and Cathy Blattel, also of Crowe and Rediger, have completed testing for certification in infection control procedures.

The orthodontic assistant certification was announced by the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB). Brannock and Statler join Carol Statler, also at Crowe & Rediger, as three of the 36 certified assistants in the state. Nationwide, only 964 assistants have been certified.

Dr. Robert Kessinger, a specific chiropractor from Cape Girardeau, recently attended a conference held at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas.

Dr. Michail Kale of the Kale Research Council, Spartanburg, S.C., spoke at a recent conference. The conference topic was "The Brain Stem and Its Relation to Health."

Kessinger, a Kale-certified instructor in Brain Stem procedures, is a member of the Kale Research Council. He operates a clinic at 1424 Kurre Lane in Cape Girardeau.

Sharon Schaefer of Schaefer Enterprises at Wolf Lake, Ill., has been elected to the National Tractor Parts Distributors Association (NTPDA) board of directors during the group's annual meeting, held recently at Jacksonville, Fla.

Schaefer, office manager, comptroller, traffic manager and advertising director at Schaefer Enterprises, is the first woman to be elected to the NTPDA board.

Schaefer Enterprises is engaged in the recycling and international distribution of used construction and logging equipment parts.

The NTPDA is an international organization representing 175 businesses.

Robert "Red" Wooten has been named vice president and general manager of Aztar Corp.'s casino riverboat development in Caruthersville.

Wooten, who joined Aztar in 1988, was previously vice president, slot and table operations, of Aztar's Ramada Express Hotel Land Casino at Laughlin, Nev. He has 15 years experience in the casino industry.

He succeeds Fritz Johnson, who joined the company in 1978, and is retiring.

Charlotte G. Fischer has been appointed chairman, president and CEO of Paul Harris Stores Inc., a women's clothing store retailer based in Indianapolis.

Paul Harris has 239 stores, including an operation at West Park Mall in Cape Girardeau.
