Lisa Sheffer, director of nursing at Optioncare of Cape Girardeau, and Crystal Young, a nurse at Optioncare, recently attended the 1995 Optioncare Conference in Phoenix.

Topics at the conference included seminars on ways to improve health care delivery, patient safety and the new JCAHO standards for home care.

Optioncare is a locally owned affiliate of a nationwide network of 199 agencies specializing in the home infusion of nutritional, intravenous and photo-therapies.

Charles L. Hanners of Jackson has received a special commendation from the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors for his commitment to continuing professional education.

Hanners, manager of the Lakenan Insurance Agency at Jackson, has been associated with the Lakenan agency 33 years.

The CIC has proved a program of instruction for the insurance industry for more than 25 years. Hanners has been involved with the CIC program 15 years.

Robert Mothershead, certified public accountant at Benton, recently attended the National Agribusiness Conference.

Allan Johnson, associated CFO of the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, was guest speaker and discussed the 1995 farm bill.

Other topics at the conference included environmental issues associated with agribusiness, private property rights and farm financial standards.

The Missouri Society of CPAs co-sponsored the conference.

Allen Oberbeck of Jackson has won an air compressor during a special promotion at Orschelon, 338 Christine.

The Sandborn Air Compressor, valued at more than $400, was one of a dozen grand prizes awarded throughout the Orschelon chain, which is comprised of more than 73 stores.

Store manager Jack Watts said the grand prize winners had their choice of an air compressor, a pressure washer or generator.

Dianne Kelley of Coad Chevrolet and Sandra Rowley of Brenekke Chevrolet have received recognition from the Chevrolet Motor Division as members of the Business Accounting Managers Council.

Membership on the national council is awarded to administrative personnel at Chevrolet dealership who demonstrate outstanding performances and customer service throughout the year.
