MEMO: ADDY ENTRIES SOUGHT FOR ADVERTISING AWARDS CONTEST

ADDY entries are now being accepted for the second annual advertising awards competition, sponsored by the Advertising Federation of Southeast Missouri.

The contest is designed to recognize advertising in the greater Cape Girardeau Market area and in the Paducah, Ky., and Harrisburg, Ill., areas.

The local competition is the first level of three-tiered competitions known as the American Advertising Awards, conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation. Local winners compete in district competitions and district winners compete in the national Addy competition.

Last year's local competition netted more than 80 entries. A total of 30 ADDYs were presented and several of the local winners also won district-level competition.

Fifty categories are listed, including electronic and print media, sales promotion (catalogs, packaging) direct marketing and outdoor advertising, including billboards.

Deadline for entries is Jan. 12. All work must have been completed during the 1995 calendar year. Winners will be announced during an awards banquet in late February.
