MEMO: CAREER DAY PROGRAM

A local Edward D. Jones office, 1709-I Independence, will participate in Jones' National Career Day Oct. 20.

The event will feature a program to be broadcast live over the company's satellite network, exploring opportunities and challenges offered by a career with Edward Jones.

At a time when many U.S. busineses are downsizing, Edward Jones is expanding its sales force. The company has more than 3,300 offices in 50 states, with a goal of 10,000 branches by 2004.

Jones offers extensive training programs for new brokers.

The typical Jones office is staffed by one investment representative and one support person.
