TWO CENTRAL STUDENTS TO ATTEND MISSOURI SCHOLARS 100 PROGRAM

Cape Girardeau Central High School seniors Jessica Anderson and Jennie Lukens have been selected to attend the Missouri Scholars 100 program.

They are among 100 high-school seniors in Missouri honored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. They will attend a luncheon May 6 in Jefferson City.

Anderson is ranked No. 1 in her class. She is a National Merit Commended Student, included in "Who's Who Among American High School Students," and was the Exchange Club Student of the Month.

She is president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, vice president of National Honor Society, a member of the Student Advisory Committee and the Student Prayer Group. She is captain of the varsity swim team and has received numerous awards.

Anderson plans to attend Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and major in social work or psychology. She is the daughter of Dave and Jan Anderson.

Lukens is president of Red Dagger Drama Club and a member of the International Thespian Society. She is a member of Student Council and National Honor Society, and participates in Chemistry Bowl, Model United Nations and Math Field Day.

She has been honored as Rotary Club Student of the Month and won Parade Magazine's Young Columbus contest and a trip to Ireland.

Lukens plans to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville and major in secondary education and mathematics. She is the daughter of Steve and Ellen Lukens.
