SCOTT CITY -- The new breakfast program at Scott City School is going well, school superintendent Douglas Berry told the school board this week.

Approximately 200 students are eating breakfast each day since the program started under Opaa Food Management Inc. Feb. 6. Berry said.

The school board authorized the program after Opaa's success in increasing student participation in the school lunch program, which the company took over in November.

In personnel matters, the board accepted the resignation of Kim Powell at the end of the school year. She is replacing a teacher on maternity leave who is returning next year.

The board also learned that Judy Robinson, home economics teacher, would be retiring at the end of the year following 24 years of service in the school district.

Berry said the board would deal with principals' and teachers' contracts at its next meeting on March 15.
