Members of the General Federation of Women's Clubs-Thursday Literary Club met Feb. 9 at the Jackson Public Library. Fourteen members were present.

Following a pledge of allegiance to the American and Missouri flags led by Eula Limbaugh, a devotional titled "Concerning Love," was given by Velma McNeely.

Minutes of the Jan. 12 meeting were also presented, as was a treasurer's report. The Thursday Literary Club has a balance of $297.23.

President Haupt shared with members a letter from the GFWC Child Reach organization requesting donations for the International Child Reach Fund.

Members were also invited to the eighth annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast scheduled for March.

Other correspondence included a thank-you note for donations made to Missouri Girls Town and a letter from Birth Right requesting contributions.

Dorothy Palish requested a report on the status of the Jackson Public Library and whether it is moving or not.

Fay Bollinger, program chairman, introduced the evening's guest speaker, Eugene Myers, who is Cape Girardeau County's Missouri Department of Conservation agent. Myers spoke on "Back Yard Wildlife," and presented a videotape on how to attract birds, butterflies and other wildlife to a home's yard and surrounding areas.

Hostesses for the meeting were Faye Bollinger and Maxine Fulton.

The meeting adjourned with members reciting the Club Collect.
