He was among 210 high school juniors and seniors from 34 states who spent a week with government officials learning about the democratic process. The students took a private tour of the White House and attended seminars at the Department of Agriculture, the Supreme Court and other federal buildings. They also met with their senators and representatives and attended congressional sessions and other Capitol Hill events. The students attended seminars on each branch of government and current issues. They also visited the city's monuments and memorials.
