Providence Hospice Group Inc. is offering volunteer training for anyone interested in becoming a hospice volunteer.

A hospice volunteer can assist with patient care, run errands for the patient and family, homemaker services, provide bereavement support, provide companionship and assist with clerical duties at the hospice office.

Hospice is a comprehensive program of service for people who face a terminal illness and their family who care for them.

The volunteer training will take place 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 15 and 22. Lunch will be provided.

The training will take place in the Providence Hospice office at 51- N. Main, Sikeston. Please call 472-4041 in Sikeston or 1-800-859-4433 for the surrounding area.
