STE. GENEVIEVE -- This year's Ste. Genevieve County Fair July 21-23 will feature a costume contest for animals.

The fair's sheep, goats, ponies, donkeys, rabbits and poultry will be decked out in spectacles, ribbons, bows and other finery for the Animal Costume Contest. The contest will be held Saturday, July 22.

Animals must be entered in the regular exhibits to participate in the costume contest.

The day's other events include an antique tractor pull, a sand volleyball tournament, an ATV pull, a junior horseshoe-pitching tournament and a cow chip lotto along with the Demolition Derby at 6:30 p.m.

The events on Sunday, July 23, include a greased pig contest, a quilt show, radio-controlled vehicle demonstrations, a bicycle and tricycle rodeo, a turtle derby, a horse derby, another cow chip lotto, a coon-treeing contest, a pedal pull and a greased pig contest.

Exhibits will be set up, livestock will enter the fairgrounds and rabbits will be judged on Friday, July 21.

The fairgrounds are located between Fourth and North Main streets in Ste. Genevieve. Follow Highway 32 into Fourth street until reaching the fairgrounds at the north end of town.
