RIVERS:

Big Niangua (above the Bennett Springs State Park): Slightly up, clearing; all fishing fair.

Big Piney (lower, below Slabtown): Up, clearing; all species good to excellent on natural baits; goggle-eye and smallmouth good to excellent on small crankbaits and spinnerbaits.

Big Piney (upper): Dingy, normal; all species fair on artificial and natural bait.

Big River: Clear upper end dingy lower end, normal; catfish good on limblines using small sunfish, minnows and worms; bass fair on jig and pigs and topwater lures.

Black (upper): Dingy, 3 1/2' above normal; smallmouth bass good on crayfish and crayfish colored Shadrap; goggle-eye fair on crayfish; all other fishing slow.

Castor (above Zalma): Clear, high; sunfish and catfish good on live bait; bass good on live bait and topwater lures.

Current: Murky but clearing, 2' above normal; all species fair on artificial and natural baits.

Jack's Fork: Clear, normal; smallmouth bass good on 6" plastic worms and crayfish in early a.m. and late p.m.; goggle-eye and bluegill fair on small plastic jigs and worms; all other species slow.

James River (below Hooten Town): Clear, 2' high; black bass fair on power bait; bluegill fair to good on live bait and crickets; catfish fair on trotlines or live and prepared baits; all other fishing slow.

Meramec (below Eureka): Clear, normal; channel catfish fair on stinkbaits; flathead catfish good on minnows; drum excellent on worms; bass fair on topwater lures; panfish good on worms.

Meramec (above Sullivan): Clear, normal; bass good on artificial lures.

Mississippi (below Charleston): Muddy, slowly falling; all species slow.

Mississippi (above St. Louis): Muddy, 1' high; catfish fair on stinkbaits, worms and liver; drum fair on worms; all other fishing slow.

Missouri (below New Haven): Muddy, slightly high; catfish and drum fair on natural bait.

Missouri (below Lexington): High but falling, muddy; fishing good.

Missouri (below Iowa line): Murky, above normal; flathead and channel catfish fair using creek chubs, bluegill, goldfish, and cut baits; carp fair using worms any place that the current is slow.

Osage (at Tuscumbia): Normal, muddy; catfish fair; all other fishing slow.

Osage (Bagnell tailwaters): Normal, muddy, 5 flood gates open; white bass, crappie and catfish fair; all other fishing slow.

St. Francis (below Wappapello): Falling; catfish fair on worms; all other species poor.

St. Francis (above Wappapello): Clear, high; sunfish and catfish good on live bait; bass good on live bait and topwater lures.

LAKES:

Bull Shoals (East): Clear, 19' above normal; black bass good on soft plastic worms and topwater lures in early a.m. and late p.m.; bluegill good on worms and crickets; catfish fair on live bait and dough bait in late p.m.; white bass fair on spinnerbaits; all other fishing slow.

Bull Shoals (K-Dock): No report given.

Busch Memorial Conservation Area Lake 33: Clear; catfish fair on chicken livers; all other fishing slow.

Clearwater: Clear, normal; crappie fair on minnows; black bass fair on crankbaits in late p.m., bluegill fair on worms and crickets along bank; catfish fair on bluegill and minnows using juglines; carp good on canned corn using rod and reel; all other fishing slow.

Duck Creek: Clear, normal; bass good on plastic worms, spinnerbaits and topwater lures; bluegill fair to good on crickets and worms; catfish fair on cut bait; crappie poor; vegetation 80 percent.

Lake of the Ozarks (Glaize): Murky; bluegill, catfish and white bass good; black bass fair; all other fishing slow.

Lake of the Ozarks (Gravois): Clearing; catfish good; black bass fair; crappie slow to fair; white bass slow.

Lake of the Ozarks (Niangua): Clear; black bass fair to good using plastic worms deep along bluffs; white bass fair at dusk off points using Rooster Tails; crappie fair using minnows at 12' to 15'; catfish fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait; walleye fair on nightcrawlers; sunfish excellent on worms and jigs.

Lake of the Ozarks (Osage): Murky; bluegill, catfish and white bass good; black bass fair; all other species slow.

Lake of the Ozarks (Truman tailwaters): Murky, releasing 53,200 cfs; catfish good using cut shad; crappie fair using minnows; white bass and hybrids fair using small spinnerbaits and Sassy Shad.

Wappapello: Lake level normal; discharge 320 CFS; bass good in early a.m. on spinnerbaits; bluegill good on crickets; crappie fair on minnows; catfish fair on nightcrawlers. NOTE: Anglers are encouraged to harvest bass under 11 inches (daily limit 6) to reduce the numbers of small bass in Wappapello Lake.

TROUT AREAS:

Bennett Spring: Clear, slightly up; trout good.

Maramec Spring: Clear, normal; fishing good.

Montauk: Clear, normal; rainbow trout good in early a.m.

Roaring River: Clear, normal; trout good.
