Laramie Klipfel, a student of Oran High School, was honored at the Future Business Leaders of America National Leadership Conference July 3 in Orlando, Fla.

Representing the state of Missouri and competing in FBLA's national awards program, Klipfel was presented with the seventh-place award in Keyboarding Applications, an event for Typing I students only. The award was part of a comprehensive competitive events' program sponsored annually by Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc.

Klipfel had captured the first-place award for this event at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in Columbia in April during state competition and vied against 38 other first-place winners including students from the United States, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Europe to secure this national award.

Individuals, state teams and local chapters are encouraged to compete in any of nearly 40 different events representing a wide range of activities and the business and leadership development focus of FBLA-PBL. The winners of these highly competitive and prestigious awards are selected form among FBLA-PBL's membership of 270,000 students and represent the best and brightest of today's youth from 12,000 chartered chapters.

Klipfel is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Klipfel.
