The Jackson Municipal Band will hold its weekly concert Thursday at 8 p.m. at the city park band shell.
Nollie Moore, a 1986 graduate of Jackson High School, will be the special guest. He is also a 1991 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia. He received a degree in music education and currently works as a middle-school specialist for Columbia public schools.
Moore, a tenor, appeared in several university opera productions. He played the lead role in "Orpheus in the Underworld," "H.M.S. Pinafore," "Cosi Fan Tutte" and "Die Fledermaus." In 1988, he toured with the Dorian Opera Theatre for productions of the "Ballad of Baby Doe."
The instrumental portion of the concert will include a collection of songs by Richard Rodgers and "Bullets and Bayonets" by John Philip Sousa.
There is no admission charge for the concert.
