The Southeast Missourian asked, "What do you think about Shannon Faulkner's quitting the Citadel after only a week?"
Amy Huskey
Red Bud, Ill.
By the way she looked, I don't think she could have been in that great of shape to start. While she was in court for two years she should have worked out and gotten physically fit.
Brooke Hildebrand
Kankakee, Ill.
I don't even think men should go to the Citadel. It is unfortunate for the women's movement. I don't think she was the person to try and do it.
Mark Douglass
Philadelphia, Penn.
Everybody has got to know their limits. I think it was good she tried. It's a shame it didn't amount to anything. I imagine it will be easier for the next woman to get in to the Citadel.
Sheba Bednar
Cleveland, Ohio
Looking at her, I didn't think she would be able to handle it, and it is an embarrassment. I think there are some women, who are feminists, who are trying to push themselves on everyone. I think that is what she was.
Meghan Moran
Chicago, Ill.
I just think she was an embarrassment to women. When there are other academies that allow women, I don't see why she had to go and pick this one.
Loren Rullman
Cape Girardeau
I think it is unfortunate from the standpoint that people will second guess whether or not she was prepared. I think the good news is that she has opened the door on an issue that probably needs to be talked about.
