ASK JACKSON

The Southeast Missourian asked Jackson residents what they thought of the proposed merger of the Jackson Public Library and the Riverside Regional Library.

Harriet Drusch: "They are both good libraries, and both are conveniently located to me right now. I'm always in favor of improvement, so I probably would support a new library that would combine the two."

Dave Reiminger: "I know people have talked about a merger for at least 25 years. It would seem that a combined library would run smoother and would be better utilized by people. I think the impact would be fantastic."

Kevin Bohnert: "If it brings the services all together in one convenient location, I think it's great. My family currently uses both libraries for different reasons, since just one library doesn't have all that we need."

Kenesia Schaper: "I think that the consolidation of all the information would be beneficial to people. I would spend less time looking for things that I need by not having to run back and forth between the two buildings."

Debbie Otto: "I think it would be a good idea, but the location for it would be very important. It would affect not only those in Jackson, but people in the outlying areas of Cape Girardeau and the county. I would hope they don't take up part of the Jackson Park with it."
