CHS BAND PLACES SECOND IN FINAL COMPETITION

The Cape Girardeau Central High School Marching Tigers won second place in their fifth and final competition of the season.

The band placed second in the blue division, which included seven other bands, and second overall in a field of 33 bands.

The Tigers won the trophy for Outstanding Musical Performance and placed second in General Effect. The contest was held at Central High School in Park Hills before an audience of several thousand people. Dozens of Cape Central Band Boosters were there to cheer the band.

During 1995 marching season, the Tigers racked up three second place finishes, one third and one fourth. A banquet will be held Saturday to celebrate the winning season.
