K's, headquartered in Decatur, Ill., offers brand name general merchandise, including furniture, electronics, sporting goods, office needs, housewares, small appliances and other merchandise.
Kay Eldridge, president of K's, will be in Carbondale for the ribbon-cutting and grand opening ceremonies, which last through Sunday. Drawings for prizes will be conducted each day. Grand prizes include a seven-piece bedroom set, Pittsburg Fiberglass Bass Boat and trailer, 30-inch color TV, and a one carat woman's diamond ring.
The Carbondale store will be the 10th in Illinois. The company also has stores in Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Florida.
