The fourth annual Thanksgiving 5K and Fun Run to promote organ and tissue donation will be held in Cape Girardeau Sunday 19 at 1 p.m.

The race begins and ends at Health South, 28 Mount Auburn Road, and is dedicated in memory of Lonnie Joe Grebe of Oak Ridge, who died in August while awaiting a heart transplant.

This year's event consists of a 5K running race, a new 5K walking race and a one-mile Fun Run/Walk. Awards will be given to the overall men and women winners, as well as to the first three men and women finishers in each of 12 age divisions.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Registration the day of the event is $10. Each registered participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

Sponsors of the race include Mid-America Transplant Services, Mid-America Hotels, Holiday Inn, Ameritech Cellular, Kowloon's Restaurant, Kohlfield Distributors, MVP Communications, HSCA, Health South, Schnucks, St. Francis Medical Center and Southeast Missouri Hospital.
