Two elderly sisters, Mrs. H and Mrs. I, live together and care for each other in their old age. Mrs. H is barely able to walk. she has severe arthritis and in the past suffered a broken knee. Mrs. I suffers with congestive heart failure. Between the two, the sisters manage to care for themselves. Neighbors help out by occasionally cooking dinner or mowing the lawn...

Mrs. H is barely able to walk. she has severe arthritis and in the past suffered a broken knee. Mrs. I suffers with congestive heart failure.

Between the two, the sisters manage to care for themselves. Neighbors help out by occasionally cooking dinner or mowing the lawn.

Mrs. H and Mrs. I must watch every penny. Neither has any money in savings or any retirement income. They live from month to month on their Social Security checks alone.

But these sisters feel blessed. They are still independent and they have each other. They thank God for that.

Mrs. H and Mrs. I don't get out much because of their health. But the sisters love to write letters. They keep in touch with friends they made decades ago. But often they are unable to purchase stamps or stationery because medical bills and utility bills run too high. A donation of stamps and pretty stationery would delight both the sisters. They would also appreciate donations to help pay their electric bill. As the coldest months of the year approach, the sisters have begun worrying about how they will possibly make the payments.

They would also like practical grocery items, including paper products, bath powder and non-perishable food. Mrs. I needs food without salt because of her heart condition. They would also enjoy a small Christmas decoration to brighten their home and perhaps a fruit basket.
