SIX HEAVY METAL BANDS AT GROUND ZERO
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Six bands, including Cape Girardeau's The Underground, will provide an evening of modern heavy metal music Saturday in Carbondale. The event is called Ground Zero. CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Six bands, including Cape Girardeau's The Underground, will provide an evening of modern heavy metal music Saturday in Carbondale.
The event is called Ground Zero. Other bands playing include Killswitch from Kalamazoo, Mich., Nine Stitches from Evansville, Ind., and St. Louis' Fragile Porcelain Mice. Also playing will be The Art of War from Carbondale and Fulcrum from Steeleville.
The event will feature a large new stage, a state-of-the art sound system and a custom light show.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the concert will start at 7 at Patty's Place inside of Detours Night Club, 760 Grand Ave. Phone (618) 457-2259 for more information.
Admission is $4. Designated drivers get in for $3 and will receive free soft drinks all evening.
No one under 19 will be admitted.
