CHAFFEE -- The Chaffee Board of Education recently hired Ed McGrew as high school principal. McGrew has served as counselor at the high school for 13 years.

The opening for a principal developed when the board last month named Ernie Lawson school superintendent. He originally was hired as high school principal, but was moved to superintendent when former superintendent Wayne Pressley retired.

McGrew is a graduate of Senath High School and Southeast Missouri State University. He received a master's degree in counseling from Southeast in 1972.

The board also hired Terry Irwin to replace McGrew as counselor. Irwin has been a counselor at the Cape Girardeau Vocational-Technical School for the last six years.
