Slack will be available for questions following each seminar.

"We're not here just to show the audience what we've done," said Slack. "We want to teach them what they can do. With the right blend of three ingredients -- planning, implementation and maintenance -- anyone can have a beautiful landscape."

Slack has been named top extension landscape architect in the U.S. by the American Society of Landscape Architects.

He was an extension landscape architect at the University of Georgia for 13 years. He earned his bachelor of science degree from the State University of New York and completed his master's degree in landscape architecture at the University of Georgia.

Additional weekend seminars will be held at Lowe's Sunday:

-- Home safety and security, by the Cape Girardeau Police Department. Officers will be at Lowe's from noon to 4 p.m. to answer questions.

-- Fall painting tips by Enterprise Paints, 2 p.m.

-- Winterizing your garden pond by Little Giant Pump Co., 1 p.m.
