Riverfest '95 will be held June 9 and 10 in downtown Cape Girardeau, Riverfest President Tom Ross has announced.

The theme for the festival of food, entertainment and carnival rides will be "Rockin' Round the Clock."

The entertainment lineup will be announced in early spring.

Ross succeeds Peggy Barringer as Riverfest Association president. She has been involved with Riverfest since its inception, serving as secretary, treasurer, vice president and, for the past two years, president.

Serving with Ross on the Riverfest Board are Marc Cook, vice president of operations and general chairman; Jayne Ervin, vice president of long-range planning and assistant chairman; Sally Owen, secretary; and Norma Wildman, treasurer.

Other members of the board are Chris Qualls, director of entertainment; Rob Schneider, director of general services; Evelyn LeGrand, director of public relations; Jerra Hutson, director of special events; Lauren Adkisson; and Cheryl Ellis.

A limited number of 1994 Riverfest commemorative T-shirts are still for sale. They feature a full-color caricature of a river pirate dancing a jig around downtown Cape's official icon, the old-fashioned clock on Main Street.

Shirts can be ordered by contacting Ross at 335-7955.

The price is $7 for regular sizes, $8 for XX-large and $9 for XXX-large shirts.
