Girls from Leopold, Woodland and Zalma high schools recently participated in an "It's High Time for Hi Tech Careers" seminar at Mineral Area College.

More than 200 sophomore girls from area schools were selected by their counselors and math and science teachers based on their interest in careers in high technology.

The girls learned about computer-aided design and drafting, civil technology, electronics, robotics and computer information systems.

Attending from Leopold were Lisa Beel, Jill Landewee, Cindy Eftink, Emma Seiler, Sara Nenninger and Jennie Nenninger.

Attending from Woodland were Jennifer Upchurch, Jill Jackson, Jenny Stitt, Roxane Lukefahr, Holly Self, Pam Sanderson, Melissa Mock, Becca Rowe, Jessica Lincolm and Andrea Eaker.

Attending from Zalma were Suzanne Dinkens, Alica Goolsby, Misty Wiseman, Beverly Statts, Ratchel Shaw, Judith Rogers, Stacy Robey, Angie Hammond and A.J. Hamilton.
