The Elks Mobile Dental Unit is located at VIP Industries through March 3.

The unit has been operated by the Dental Department of Truman Medical Center-East of Kansas City since 1962, in partnership with the state of Missouri and the Missouri Elks Benevolent Association.

The program brings primary care dental services to handicapped and crippled children as well as mentally retarded and developmentally disabled children and adults through the state.

The vehicle is equipped with a full range of dental services, such as X-rays, fillings, extractions, cleanings and other treatments.

Eligible patients from Cape Girardeau, Bollinger and Scott counties may receive free dental care. They are referred by the Bureau of Special Health Care Needs or a Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
