What would happen if you took a few songs, sprinkled them with humor, then added a dash of poetry, magic and philosophy and put them all on stage right before Valentine's Day?

You would have "The Lighter Side of Amore" Part II.

The event, sponsored by the Southeast Missouri State Music Department, will take place Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. in Academic Auditorium.

Southeast's faculty will showcase their talents during an evening filled with music, drama, poetry and laughter as Martin Jones, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, performs a mysterious silken serenade with his persona "Monroe the Magician."

Dan Dunavan, associate professor of music, will impersonate "Growlinger the Bravo Cat, who traveled on a barge." David Green, associate professor of music, will present Irish ballads.

The tax-deductible portion of the gift wil be accepted by the Southeast Foundation and applied toward membership in the Copper Dome Society.

To reserve patron subscriptions, contact the Department of Music at (314) 651-2141. General admission tickets will be available at the door for $5.
