Nineteen girls will vie for the title of Miss Riverfest Saturday at 2 p.m. on Riverfest's main stage. Four girls are also competing for the Little Miss Riverfest title. Nineteen girls will vie for the title of Miss Riverfest Saturday at 2 p.m. on Riverfest's main stage. Four girls are also competing for the Little Miss Riverfest title.

This year's pageant is sponsored by Cybertel of Cape Girardeau. Master of ceremonies will be Barbara England of KUGT 1170 AM. Co-hosts of the pageant are Jessica Eftink, 1992 Little Miss Riverfest, and Christina Brumbaugh, 1993 Miss Riverfest.

Prior to the on-stage portion of the contest, five local judges will interview the candidates.

Miss Riverfest contestants:

April Ann McIntosh, 15, of Campbell, is the daughter of Jim and Linda McIntosh. She is a sophomore at Campbell High School, a member of the German Club and Students Against Drunk Drivers, and plays softball and volleyball.

Jennifer McDowell, 17, of Sikeston, is the daughter of Eddie and Christy McDowell. She is a senior at Sikeston High School where she is a member of the marching band, a reporter for the Bulldog Barker and secretary of the Red Peppers. She plans to attend Southeast Missouri State University and major in broadcast journalism.

Jennifer Altenthal, 16, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Karen and Brad Altenthal. She is a sophomore at Cape Central High School where she is a member of the Beta Club and Spanish Club and plays softball and volleyball.

Laurie Perry, 16, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Bruce and Cindy Watson. She is a sophomore at Cape Central where she has been a cheerleader for three years. She also plays the piano.

Michelle J. Edwards, 16, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Jane and Kent Stodghill. She is a sophomore at Cape Central where she is a member of the Beta Club, Spanish Club and Future Business Leaders of America. She participates in volleyball and track.

Leannah Foltz, 15, of Jackson, is the daughter of Nick and Donna Foltz. She is a sophomore at Jackson High School and is a member of FHS. She is also a candy striper and collects Mickey Mouse memorabilia.

Brandi Leonard, 17, of Jackson, is the daughter of Peggy and Andy Leonard. She is a senior at Jackson High School. She participated in the pop concert and has sung solos. She also collects Elvis Presley memorabilia.

McLane Jateff, 15, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Bruce and Jana Jateff. She is a sophomore at Cape Central where she is a member of the Pep Club, Spanish Club and band and is on the honor roll. She enjoys cheerleading and playing the piano.

Melanie Hicks, 16, of Jackson, is the daughter of Tomi Hicks Sample. She is a senior at Jackson High School where she is involved in school plays and choir.

Heather Diana Gregory, 17, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of David and Diana Gregory. She is a junior at Cape Central High School and plans to attend college to study physical therapy.

Amanda Lomax, 17, of Benton, is the daughter of Cheryl and Gary Lomax. She is a junior at Scott City High School where she is involved in varsity basketball and is secretary of the student council.

Anita Dawn Bruce, 17, of Morley, is the daughter of Doyle and Cathy Bruce. She is a senior at Scott County Central. She is involved in FHA, cheerleading, FBLA, History Club and Beta Club.

Jodi LaDawn Warren, 15, of Dexter, is the daughter of Jim and Donna Warren. She is a junior at Dexter High School where she is involved in DHS, Foreign Language Club, Chamber Choir and Concert Band. She is also a twirler.

Christina Marie Morris, 17, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of LaWanda Stelling. She is a junior at Cape Central High School where she is a member of Student Council and Stuco.

Jessica Jones, 15, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Martha Jones. She is a freshman at Cape Central Junior High. She is involved in French Club, Beta Club and choir. She also plays the piano and swims.

Crystal R. Rhodes, 16, of Marble Hill, is the daughter of Obed and Wanda Rhodes. She is a junior at Woodland High School where she is a FHA officer, FFA president, TREND president and a vocalist.

Susan Austin, 18, of Benton, is the daughter of James and Joyce Austin. She is a senior at Kelly High School, where she is involved in FHA, FBLA, SADD, chorus and school publications.

Ruthie Tipton, 16, of Marble Hill, is the daughter of Lynn and Linda Tipton. She is a junior at Woodland High School where she is involved in band, Pep Club, FHA, and Pep Band. She is also a twirler.

Jessica LeAnna Parris, 17, of Dexter, is the daughter of Kenneth and Connie Parris. She is a senior at Dexter High School where she is involved in Chamber Choir, Speech and Debate Club and is among the top 10 percent of her class. She is also field commander for Dexter High School's marching band.

Little Miss Riverfest contestants:

Brittany Lang, 6, of Cape Girardeau, is the daughter of Connie and Rick Lang. She enjoys horseback riding and rollerblading.

Kelly Lynn Mathews, 5, of Scott City, is the daughter of Dennis and Lynn Mathews. She enjoys reading, playing tennis and bicycling.

Ashley Danielle Aubuchon, 6, of Scott City, is the daughter of Pamela and Bryan Aubuchon. She is a Daisy Girl Scout and a fan of Garth Brooks.

(Not pictured) Sierra Kathleen Prater, 5, of Thebes, Ill., is the daughter of Steve and Saundra Prater. She enjoys playing T-ball and will begin kindergarten at Egyptian School in the fall.
