JACKSON -- Secretary of State Judi Moriarty, State Treasurer Bob Holden, and U.S. Rep. Alan Wheat are expected to be among the Democrats attending the annual Byrd Township barbecue today at the Jackson High Football Stadium.

Wheat, who is seeking the Democratic nomination for the U.S. Senate has said he will definitely attend, and other Senate candidates, including Jackson County Executive Marsha Murphy and State Rep. Steve Carroll may also attend.

All candidates and statewide officeholders in attendance will be given a few minutes to speak at the event, which begins at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the gate.
