Area vocalist Mike Dumey will be the guest performer complementing music by George Gershwin and Richard Rodgers at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band concert Wednesday.

The concert is scheduled to take place at 8 p.m. in the Capaha Park band shell.

Dumey, a graduate of vocal music from Southeast Missouri State University and a music teacher in the Cape Girardeau public schools, will offer selections from the movie "Ghosts" and from songs by Ray Stevens.

Assistant conductor Neil Casey will direct Gershwin's "Strike Up the Band" and selected melodies from the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical, "Oklahoma."

Other selections will include the "Washington Post March," "Invercargill March," "Festival Prelude," music from "Aladdin" and the first movement from Robert Jager's "Third Suite."

The concert, sponsored by the Parks and Recreation Department, is free.
