James Nathan Daniels of Scott City graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri-Rolla May 14 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Daniels has received a graduate research assistantship at the Joint Institute for the Advancement of Flight Science, a cooperative campus of George Washington University and the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Va., while pursuing a master's program in astronautics. Daniels is a 1988 graduate of Scott City High School and the son of Bill and Joyce Daniels of Scott City.
