New officers and chairmen for 1994-96 were elected at a recent meeting of the Cape County Genealogical Society.

The officers are: Jean Adams, president; Jane Jackson, vice president; Kathy Barberis, recording secretary; Alma Lee Slinkard, treasurer, and Ken Schlimme, historian.

Chairmen are: Slinkard, book; Catherine Bock, hospitality; Clarence and Dorothy Kurre, library; Mary Lee Rasmussen, membership; Jackie Rutherford, publications; Aline Mantooth, surname, and Melva Rose Lewis, quarterly.

It was noted the St. Mary's Cemetery Book is available for $35. Make checks payable to Cape County Genealogical Society and mail to the society at 735 Mt. Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63701.

Home delivery will be made to those living within the Cape Girardeau city limits. Anyone wanting books mailed to them should include $5 per book for shipping and handling.

The society meets at 7:30 p.m. at Riverside Regional Library in Jackson on the fourth Tuesday in January, March, May, July, September and November.

The society is also open on the fourth Tuesday of the alternate months for research purposes. The meetings are open to the public.
