Jerry L. Sanders, chief financial officer at Southeast Missouri Hospital, has been named an assistant administrator. Jerry L. Sanders, chief financial officer at Southeast Missouri Hospital, has been named an assistant administrator.

The appointment was announced this week by Southeast Hospital Administrator James W. Wente.

Sanders, a 1975 graduate of Southern Illinois University with a bachelor of science degree in accounting, joined Southeast Missouri Hospital in 1982 as controller. He was named chief financial officer in 1991. Prior to joining the hospital, he was an audit manager and health care consultant with Laventhol and Horwath in Carbondale.

In his new position, Sanders will be responsible for all the fiscal services of the hospital as well as its Human Resources/Environmental Safety Department.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and an affiliate with the American College of Healthcare Executives.

E. Lee Whitler has been promoted to vice president at Boatmen's Bank.

As vice president and compliance officer, Whitler is responsible for maintaining bank compliance with federal, state and agency laws, rules and regulations through administration of the bank's compliance program.

In addition, Whitler provides systems and procedures to accommodate regulations changes.

Whitler, of Jackson, is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a bachelor's degree in computer science. He joined Boatmen's in June of 1992 as compliance officer. He has eight years of banking experience.

Patricia A. Murray and Janet E. Wolfe have joined the staff of the Regional Employee Assistance Program, 1734 N. Kingshighway, in Cape Girardeau.

Wally Alstun, owner of the firm, announced the new appointments recently.

Murray, a recently retired professor at Southeast Missouri State University, holds a doctorate from Indiana University and recently completed a master's degree in psychological counseling. She holds certificates in drug/alcohol training from Johnson Institute and a Chancellor's Certificate from the State of Missouri.

Wolfe, of Jackson, is the new office manager. She previously worked with Consumer Security Benefits.

The Regional Employee Assistance Program is designed to help employers and employees in problem or crisis situations.

Kimra Stone, patient care manager for Southeast Missouri Hospital's Regional Home Health Services, has completed requirements for American Nurses Association Certification (ANAC) for Home Health Nursing.

This is the first year that ANAC certification has been offered in the area of home health. Qualifications to take the certification exam include a bachelor of science degree in nursing and a minimum of two years clinical practice in home health nursing.

Stone is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with a B.S. degree in nursing. She has been employed at Southeast Missouri Hospital since 1987. She is a member of the Intravenous Nurses Society.

Last year, Southeast's Regional Home Health Services recorded more than 9,000 home visits to patients in five counties -- Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Perry, Scott and Stoddard.
