JONESBORO, Ill. -- A toll-free telephone number has been established for residents in three Illinois counties to get information about flood conditions and assistance. The number is 1-800-600-6444. The Tri-County Flood Information Center, located at the Forest Service office in Jonesboro, is available for residents of Alexander, Jackson and Union counties.
The number will be staffed around the clock every day to dispense information about road closures, river levels and emergency services.
