Captain China Liu Restaurant will open at 2123 Broadway Wednesday.
The new restaurant, owned by Tien and Tresa Liu, who moved to the Cape Girardeau area from California recently, will feature Chinese cuisine.
"We will be open seven days a week," said Tresa Liu.
Hours for the restaurant will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The restaurant is located in the building that formerly housed Fisherman's Ketch Restaurant.
The Lius previously operated a Chinese restaurant in the Los Angeles area.
"Our family operates two Chinese restaurants in Missouri," added Tresa Liu. "My sisters and her husband operate a restaurant in Lebanon, and my niece and her husband have a restaurant at Osage Beach.
"We will specialize in the Szechuan style of Chinese food," said Tresa Liu. "This is from the south central part of China. In some cases, we will mix the Szechuan style with the Hunan or Cantonese styles."
Other styles of Chinese foods include Mandarin and Shanghei.
A variation of entrees will be available on the menu, including steak teriyaki, Szechuan beef, and a number of other entrees featuring, chicken, sour pork, shrimp and lamb.
