What at one time was a Pizza Inn in Cape Girardeau is under new ownership with a new name.

Doyle and Cora Lee Sample recently purchased the restaurant at 409 N. Clark and renamed it Pop's Pizza.

The Samples are also owners of Sample Carpet and Decorating Center, 19 N. Main, which will remain open.

"Our son and daughter, Brad Sample and Patti Hite, will manage the pizza operation," said Cora Lee Sample. "We'll help out. It will be a family operation."

Brad Sample and Hite each have experience in restaurant work.

Hours for the restaurant will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

"We will continue the noon and evening buffets," said Cora Lee Sample. The noon buffet will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the evening buffet will be available from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Pizza Inn was built in 1965 and was owned by Barks Inc., which also opened pizza restaurants in Sikeston, Poplar Bluff, Blytheville, Ark., and Memphis, Tenn.

The Samples will be the fourth owner of the restaurant. Previous owners were Mike Brady and Tom Doyle, who called the operation T.D. Pizza.
