A day of healthy fun and low-keyed competition for seniors 55 and older is being held on Feb. 25 at the Centenary United Methodist Church.

The Heartland Mid-Winter Senior Fitness Frolic will include health checkups; fun, low-key competitive events; juice and fruit snacks and an award luncheon for all participants at noon on the following day.

On Feb. 25, those age 55 to 64 should participate from 8 to 11 a.m.; ages 65 to 74 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and those ages 75 and older from 2 to 5 p.m.

Trophies will be awarded to overall age group winners for both men and women. Ribbons will be awarded to individual event winners also.

The enrollment deadline is Feb. 15. There is a $4 fee to participate and scholarships are also available, but registration is limited to the first 200. The fee covers all costs including the awards luncheon.

The event will be held in the Centenary's Family Life Center. The event's sponsors are Centenary Methodist Church, Southeast Missouri Hospital's Fitness and Wellness Center and Schnucks.
